-Coconut is an excellent source of medium chain triglycerides, a type of fat that can be burned for energy right away. Moderate intake of pure raw unrefined coconut oil helps reduce abdominal fat and increase fat burning potential. It is not, however, a magic weight bullet for weight loss as that doesn’t exist.

-Contains lauric acid, which is antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral and may help reduce cholesterol.

-Appears to help with blood sugar control, reducing the risk of type II diabetes and metabolic syndrome.

-Coconut water is an excellent source of electrolytes and is a much healthier alternative to sports drinks.

-Because coconut oil is predominantly a saturated fat, it is safe to use for cooking however most of its health benefits are maximized when eaten raw.
